August was a great month at Raken! The entire crew gathered in San Diego to discuss where the company has been and where it's going, all while pushing out new updates to the product and learning more about how our customers have been using Raken to improve the work they do.
Time Cards Features
The first change to the Raken experience that came in August was an enhancement to our time card reports. Users now have the ability to include per diem amounts or any general note so that your payroll team can access it when they view the overall time card report. This feature improves the flow of time card information back to the office, eliminating the need for tedious follow-up phone calls to explain charges.
We also added the ability to adjust the start and end of a payroll week to match your company's individual, specific payroll requirements. This functionality makes time cards integrate more seamlessly with your company's existing payroll structure.
With more features being added to Raken we started talking to some of our current users about how they are using Raken to streamline their reporting in the field. Take Opus Mechanical out of Ontario, Canada for example. A new company, they send their Raken daily reports to customers to keep them informed. "Raken elevates our company to a better level over our competitors that aren't using it" says Blair McDonnell, the Director of Opus Mechanical. Come check out their full report in Raken's case studies and see how they and other organizations are using daily reports to make their jobs easier.
Raken's Stan Singh at Bluebeam Extreme Conference in Austin, TX
On September 17th from 3:30 to 4:30 PM Stan Singh, Raken's Director of Product, and Dominic Daughtrey, Sundt's Continuous Improvement Program Manager, will be leading a session on how to empower the construction field with mobile technology. Singh and Daughtrey will discuss the challenges the field faces when it comes to workflows like daily reports, time cards, photo management, etc... and how Raken helps streamline those processes. In particular, they will highlight Sundt Construction's challenges in process execution prior to Raken; how and why they decided to use Raken, and their current process post-implementation. They will take a deep dive into Sundt's daily report, photo management, and time card workflows and how Raken has helped make these processes more efficient. They will also touch upon the positive change in behavior Sundt Construction noticed with their field personnel and how simplifying their major field workflows provided the office staff with better visibility and insights onto their jobsites.
It's a sold-out show but if you're attending Bluebeam Extreme make sure to stop by and say hello.
What is Design-Build?
As we talk with customers in case studies or at conferences we have been running into more and more design-build construction firms. So many that we wrote a design-build blog on what it is, where it came from, and what it means for the construction industry at large.
