Raken helps users easily manage worker certifications and instantly assess what skilled labor is available for faster, more efficient scheduling.

We’ve collected the top six most popular certifications tracked in our app.

Raken’s top certifications

1. General safety & OSHA training

By far, general safety is the most commonly assigned category of certification, with OSHA’s 30-Hour and 10-Hour training occupying top spots. Both OSHA courses cover comprehensive worksite safety, hazard prevention, standard regulations, and more.

Contractors face countless hazards on the jobsite, and understanding who can be relied on to help identify and mitigate common risks can make all the difference in avoiding incidents.

2. Fall protection

Falls are one of the most common and deadly accidents in construction. Employees with fall protection certification have been trained to recognize and help protect themselves and their coworkers from this often unavoidable hazard.

If you know which employees are certified in fall protection, you can make sure at least one is assigned on any job that requires working from heights or with equipment like ladders or platforms.

3. Welding

Welding is a specialized and in-demand skill. Employees who are certified in different types of welding can be trusted to complete work safely, meeting higher quality standards.

4. Confined space

All of the hazards that are typically associated with construction are compounded when work must be performed in a confined space. If employees don't know the proper procedures for working in pipes, manholes, tanks, and other areas where movement is greatly restricted, they’re at higher risk for injuries.

Confined space certification ensures an employee has been trained on how to mitigate risks in small and enclosed environments.

5. CPR & first aid

Even when you have skilled employees working onsite, incidents may still occur. The more workers onsite who are certified in CPR and/or general first aid, the greater the chance that a person who does receive an injury or illness will get the appropriate care and attention. This can be crucial when the injury or the illness is severe and the affected individual must wait for emergency services to arrive.

Untrained and uncertified personnel should not attempt CPR or first aid, as doing so incorrectly can cause further harm.

6. Equipment

Every type of equipment on the construction site comes with its own set of best practices. From aerial lifts to scissor lifts, even different types of similar tools require specific certifications for safe and effective operation.

Employees who track workers’ equipment certifications in Raken can easily see who can be assigned to use what on their projects.
